DETAILS
This course is usually delivered in the field and provides an introduction to FEMA’s Environmental and Historic Preservation (EHP) compliance responsibilities.

Course Objectives:
• Have a basic knowledge of Federal EHP laws.
• Be able to outline FEMA's responsibilities under these laws.
• Know how to access EHP resources and staff.
• Identify and address EHP issues where they arise in FEMA projects.

Selection Criteria:
This course is only open to EHP Cadre members who have approval from the Office of Environmental Planning and Historic Preservation Headquarters and/or FEMA Regional Environmental Officers.

Required Prerequisite: Participants are expected to possess a basic knowledge of FEMA’s Public Assistance and Mitigation programs prior to taking this course.

CONTINUING EDUCATION
CECs: 12 CECs for CFMs
CEUs: 1.8

COST
Course attendance is free, but registration is required. If admitted to the course, FEMA will reimburse local, state, U.S. territory, and tribal government employees for transportation to attend the course, provide free lodging on campus, and free shuttle to/from nearby airports to the EMI campus. The only out of pocket cost for local, state, U.S. territory, and tribal government employees to participate will be for their time, and the on-campus meal ticket (approximately $110/week).

Register here, create a FEMA Student Identification Number (if you don't already have one), then follow instructions to apply for an on-campus course. Applications should be submitted a least 4 weeks prior to the course date.
