We have created our own webinar series whose focus is on cutting edge issues, techniques and best practices. Relying on our wide membership base of subject matter experts, webinars are created and taught by the experts on the topics and are intentionally presented in a practical manner for participants to use right away in their daily jobs. To support the technology, staff and programs, we charge a registration fee for these events, however, members receive 50% off the cost of registration and our Chapter members and other partners receive up to 25% off registration.
ASFPM Special Edition and Lunch-n-learns
Our Policy Committees host webinars on a variety of topics relating to the policy goals of the committee. While these events are produced frequently, there is no set schedule and there is no set schedule. The Lunch-n-learn events are free for members to attend. ASFPM Cooperating Technical Partners
The Cooperating Technical Partners Program is an innovative approach to creating partnerships between FEMA and participating NFIP communities, regional agencies, state agencies, tribes and universities that have the interest and capability to become active participants in the FEMA flood hazard mapping program. The goal is to help identify mechanisms to measure successes and share best practices among mapping partners. Webinars are produced quarterly and are free to attend.
ASFPM/APA Planning Information Exchange (PIE)
In cooperation with the American Planning Association (APA), the Association of State Floodplain Managers (ASFPM) present the Planning Information Exchange (PIE) webinars. PIE, is a free quarterly webinar series focusing on tools, best practices, and strategies on the role of hazard mitigation planning and its connections with other community planning and hazard risk reduction initiatives. The webinars are designed to be mutually beneficial to CFMs as well as AICPs, and attendees receive credit toward each certification.
