Three Federal reports released this week

Federal agencies had a busy week, releasing three, relevant reports.

One was the much anticipated “Mitigation Assessment Team Report: Hurricane Sandy in New Jersey and New York.” This report reviews performance of buildings in Sandy. View the report and recommendations at https://www.fema.gov/media-library/assets/documents/85922.

USACE and FEMA released their Final Report of the Flood Protection Structure Accreditation Task Force, which was mandated by BW-12 to foster alignment of the agencies programs on levees. It can be viewed at https://www.usace.army.mil/Portals/2/docs/civilworks/levee/FINAL_FPSATaskForceReport.pdf.

FEMA also announced and released a new Report to Congress, called “Including Building Codes in the National Flood Insurance Program.” Read the report at https://www.fema.gov/media-library/assets/documents/85960.

All three are important, and ASFPM looks forward to hearing reactions to the reports.
